Perception Surveys

Perception surveys are an integral part of any safety culture assessment. The use of perception surveys provides a means to measure leading indicators of safety performance by providing a snapshot of the current safety culture through the lens of the cultural climate.

The Safety Opinion Survey© (SOS) is designed to identify relative strengths and weaknesses of the current safety culture by measuring six key drivers.

The SOS is a perception survey questionnaire consisting of 20 questions rated by the survey participants on a scale of 1 to 5 (1=Never, 5=Always). Responses are calculated and attached to the appropriate category as percent positive scores.

Results from the perception gap analysis provide you with statistical baseline data against which future improvements can be measured.

The Safety Opinion Survey© is available to be utilized by your organization in several ways:

  Includes employee focus group and management interviews

• Survey only - administered by a trained PROSAFE survey proctor
  For purposes of anonymity
